  109.   DOS Services, DESQview's menu shell for DOS, gives
  110.   you menus and help for DOS commands. DOS Services
  111.   even adds features to DOS--like scrolling through DOS
  112.   directories and marking files to be copied, erased or
  113.   backed up.

  117.   DESQview lets you have several programs open at the 
  118.   same time. You benefit by getting fast access to 
  119.   programs. Now you no longer have to close one program
  120.   before opening another. And you can have several copies

  122.   same time.

  127.   program. Or, if you have several programs open at once,
  128.   you can view these programs simultaneously, through
  129.   windows--windows that are overlapping or tiled. You can

  136.   that you can transfer data from one program to another.

  161.   increases as you add memory and processor power. In 
  162.   systems with 640K, you're able to open as many programs                 
  163.   as you want--but only programs that fit in your PC's
  164.   640K of memory are actually running. The other programs
  165.   are suspended, waiting for your commands.

  167.                Expanded (EMS 3.2) Memory Support

  169.   If you have an expanded memory board (EMS 3.2), such 
  170.   as the Intel AboveBoard, you can have several programs,

  180.   640K barrier.

  184.   Because DESQview's focus is on multitasking, DESQview 
  185.   can turn misbehaved DOS programs, which write directly 
  186.   to the screen, into well-behaved programs that can run 
  187.   in background and in windows. DESQview's "magic", called
  188.   "loader" is the reason why DESQview users on 8088 and 
  189.   80286 PCs can run 1-2-3 in background.

  194.   (keystroke macros). Using Learn you can get DESQview

  207.   DESQview's DOS memory overhead averages only 10K.

  222.   to interact with DESQview and with other programs

  227.   Using the DESQview API, a program can use DESQview to 
  228.   move, resize, hide, color its windows, create subwindows,
  229.   spawn subtasks that run concurrently with the main task, 
  230.   create menus, use a mouse, & send messages to and receive 
  231.   messages from other programs. So programs can now act 
  232.   alone or together, doing chores in silence or in chorus.

  236.   DESQview 2.2 is its most powerful on 80386 PCs and PS/2s
  237.   when used in conjunction with Quarterdeck's Expanded
  238.   Memory Manager-386 Version 4.2 (QEMM-386). We call this
  239.   combination DESQview 386.  DESQview 386 gives DOS 
  240.   the capabilities of OS/2--and more.

  244.   DESQview 386 not only gives you the multitasking,
  245.   presentation management, and data transfer capabilities 
  246.   built into DESQview, but it taps into the 80386's 
  247.   powerful features--its virtual 8086 machine architecture

  251.   you program protection plus the ability to run multiple
  252.   large memory-intensive (15MB in size) 80386-specific
